NTR Mahanayakudu Review: Tollywood audience much awaited second part biopic on the life of legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NTR) NTR Mahanayakudu, hits the theatres today in grand manner, the first part of NTR Kathanayakudu failed to impress the audience, let’s see what the second part has to offer.
Story: The second half of NTR biopic- NTR Mahanayakudu starts with NTR (Nandamuri Balakrishna) decides to enter into politics and announces his Telugu Desham party and How did NTR come into the power within nine months with his charisma Suddenly, NTR’s wife Basavatharakam (Vidya Balan) is diagnosed with cancer and NTR gets distracted, Later He comes to know that he has enemies within the party, his own finance minister Nadendla Bhaskara Rao (Sachin Kadekar) and he tries to grab the power latter NTR regains the power and announces a battle against the forces in Delhi and comes back to power forms the rest of the story of the movie.
Performances: once again Nandamuri Balakrishna delivered fantastic performance as NTR, His looks, behaves and talks exactly like his father NTR. Bala Krishna perfectly suited for NTR the politician’s role. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan continues her role from where she left in first part as Basavatharakam, her chemistry with balakrishna come out well especially in emotional scenes so impressive. Rana excels as Chandra Babu Naidu his scenes are given heroic elevations. Noted actor Sachin Khedekar’s screen presence is extraordinary as Nadendla Bhaskara Rao. The movie has talented casts Kalyan Ram, Vennela Kishore, Bharat Reddy, Daggubati Raja, and others performed accordingly in their given roles.
Technical Aspects: The movie Production values by NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, and Vibri Media are grand, Gnana Sekhar cinematography a great eye feast to the audiences. Keeravani’s music is fine and the Background score is impressive. Sai Madhav Burra dialogues are clap worthy at places. Talented Director Krish tries to make Mahayanayakudu emotional family drama involving the husband and the wife angle as well as NTR’s political journey, Krish’s direction was okay but his narration was so flat with no real engaging.
- Bala Krishna Performance
- Background score
- Dragged screenplay
- Predictable Narration
- Climax looks rushed
Verdict: NTR Mahanayakudu is a decent political drama, The NTR Biopic had a fixed timeline, and Hence, The director told the story of NTR in his wife Basava Tarakam’s Point of view which means it cannot go beyond 1985. There’s so much drama, but it doesn’t make you feel its pulse. The biopic too did not have emotional involvement due to its flat narration. NTR Mahanayakudu movie may only appeal for NTR fans and have nothing to offer for
